The retro match at the Volgograd Arena ended in victory for the guests with a score of 0:2.
Roman Pavlyuchenko opened the scoring in the second half. He clearly put the ball into the gates of Stalingrad. The fans were dissatisfied with the first goal – a deafening and disapproving whistle sounded in the stands.
At the end of the meeting, Dynamo players conceded the second goal. Alexander Samedov went into the penalty area of the Stalingraders and sent the ball into the far corner of Andrei Chichkin’s goal with an accurate blow. After that, the advantage of the “red-whites” was two goals.
There can be no losers in such a game, because this is a grand event for all Volgograd residents and guests of the hero city. After the final whistle, the fans sang “Victory Day” to the accompaniment of the orchestra, because literally in a week the whole country will celebrate a holiday sacred to all Russians.
Recall that on the first day of May, the Volgograd Arena hosted reconstruction of the legendary match Dynamo (Stalingrad) and Spartak (Moscow). The football festival was timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. On May 2, 1943, the Stalingrad team fought with the capital’s Spartak. The game has become a symbol of the invincible city, as well as the restoration of life in it after the Battle of Stalingrad.
