Spartak Moscow football player Promes is in a police station in Dubai

Footballer of the Moscow club “Spartak” Quincy Promes is in the Al-Khawanij police station, the Dubai police (UAE) told TASS. Athlete was detained the day before, February 29, at Al Maktoum International Airport during passport control.

“Dutch citizen Quincy Promes was detained yesterday and taken to the Al-Khawanij police station,” police reported to TASS. Police station employees confirmed that the athlete was with them.

According to the interlocutor, the athlete was subject to an Interpol “blue” notice, which implies the collection of additional information about the person, his activities and location due to the criminal investigation. After a Dutch court issued an indictment against the football player, his status changed to “red,” which provides grounds for arrest by security forces of any country.

14 February Amsterdam District Court admitted Quincy Promesa was convicted of drug smuggling and sentenced to six years in prison. His property was arrestedand the football player announced on the international wanted list. According to investigators, in 2020, Quincy Promes organized the transportation of 1.3 tons of cocaine through the port of Antwerp.
