“Spartak” led the Premier League after a major victory over “Rubin”

Spartak won the third victory in a row in the Russian Football Championship. The Red-and-Whites dealt with Rubin on the road – 4:1, which allowed them to get ahead of Krasnodar in additional indicators and come out on top in case of equality of points. With the same score, CSKA unexpectedly delivered Lokomotiv. With six points, the army team is currently in fifth place.
All the matches of the Saturday program of the third round deserved attention, although, of course, the highlight was the CSKA-Lokomotiv derby. It so happened at the start of the championship that even the meetings between Wings of the Soviets – Rostov and Orenburg – Ural directly influenced the situation at the top of the standings. What can we say about the confrontation between Rubin and Spartak, which was pursuing Krasnodar, which scored the maximum nine points after the victory over Pari Nizhny Novgorod.
The same “Wings” and “Rostov” had four points before the match in Samara. Wards of Igor Osinkin in the previous round escaped defeat, losing 1:3 to Dynamo. This time they already put their opponent in such an uncomfortable position, and they created a “plus two” advantage for themselves by the tenth minute. First, Vladimir Khubulov scored, and then Nikita Saltykov, who is remembered for scoring the winning goal for Spartak in the last Russian Cup, when he was still playing for Akron from the first league.
But the team of Valery Karpin recently stopped Zenit itself, and in general, she is no stranger to recoup in the current championship, since in all three matches she missed first. And now the Rostovites made it clear that 0:2 is not a sentence for them, when Nikolai Komlichenko took advantage of the gross mistake of the Samara goalkeeper Bogdan Ovsyannikov at the exit. However, in the 35th minute, the restless Saltykov scored a double and restored the two-goal difference. And already in the second half, the hosts took the lead 4:1, after the goalkeeper of “Rostov” Sergey Pesyakov made a mistake and Egor Karpitsky punished him.
In the end, things came to an even bigger defeat, when Roman Yezhov converted a penalty, which he himself earned. The Wings won 5-1 and temporarily moved up to second place with seven points.
Spartak scored two victories at the start of the championship, but both were heavy, and Rubin, who returned to the Premier League, made an impression of a very combat-ready team, therefore, according to forecasts, the Muscovites were in for a difficult trip to Kazan. The hosts really started the match super-aggressively, and Joel Fameye almost opened the scoring. The red-whites were saved by the central defender Georgiy Jikia, who knocked the ball out of the goal. Only after that they really entered the game and almost immediately opened the Kazan defense. Center forward Alexander Sobolev pulled into the depths and acted as a playmaker, giving a thin pass to Theo Bongonda, who ran one on one with goalkeeper Yuri Dyupin, circled him and hit an empty target.
But closer to the break, Rubin retaliated a beautiful goal from Spartak’s newcomer. Moreover, this happened after the referee Evgeny Kukulyak unreasonably appointed a penalty kick against the guests, because Ruslan Litvinov, in principle, did not break the rules. In addition, the red-whites were doubly unlucky, because a dubious standard led to the fact that Iva Ugochukva played on the rebound, shot, and Daniil Khlusevich cut the ball into his own goal with his head.
However, in the second half, the head coach of the capital’s club, Guillermo Abascal, made two effective substitutions, and the former soldier Jesús Medina scored not just in the first match for Spartak, but in the very first seconds of his stay on the field. Assisted Paraguayan Daniil Denisov, who made a perfect canopy almost in the goalkeeper’s area. Soon Sobolev brought Mikhail Ignatov one on one with Dupin, and another joker Abaskal managed to throw the ball into the net in the fall. Well, the top scorer of the red-and-white Quincy Promes from the transfer of Christopher Martins finally broke Rubin, who lost the match in just 15 minutes.
Having won 4:1, Spartak not only caught up with Krasnodar with nine points, but also led the Premier League thanks to a greater number of goals (nine against six).
Meanwhile Ural achieved success in Orenburg – 2:0, confidently using the numerical majority after an early removal from the hosts Brian Mansiglia. Thus, Yekaterinburgers, who took seven points in three rounds, are still in the group of leaders.
Moscow derbies are always interesting on their own, even without reference to a specific tournament situation. Although the contenders for the championship met at the VEB Arena, who, however, have already suffered losses. The debut was clearly left behind by Lokomotiv, which delivered several dangerous blows. One of them, performed by Maxim Glushenkov from the standard, was not without difficulty reflected by CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev, while no one bothered Artem Dziuba to finish the ball into an empty net. But the experienced striker of the guests surprisingly missed, failing to pick up his leg correctly.
But in the end, the railroad workers flew in, who got two goals in a couple of minutes. First, Ilya Samoshnikov inadvertently braided Fedor Chalov’s legs in the penalty area, and the army forward again had to take a penalty. Recall that in the last match with Akhmat, he collected a whole hat-trick on 11-meter. Chalov again confirmed the status of a full-time penalty taker and then aesthetically played along with the heel of Milan Gaich, who avoided disqualification after being sent off in the same scandalous meeting with Akhmat and therefore appeared on the field. The Serb simply had no right to screw up such a moment and sent the ball into the net.
The Lokomotiv players were clearly discouraged by such a development of events, and even the break did not help them recover. On top of that, the defender of the red-greens Mario Mitai made a goal error, and Maxim Mukhin “thanked” him with the third goal. Egor Pogostnov, having closed the pitch from a corner, quickly soaked the score, which was disappointing for the guests, but Mukhin immediately returned them to their previous state, showing that he also knows how to hit his head. After that, pulling out the game was no longer possible at all, and CSKA won the third major victory of the day – 4:1. The red-blues have six points, and so far they are in fifth place.
