“Spartak” has gone astray from “Akron”
[ad_1]
Akron and Krasnodar became the finalists of the lower part of the play-off bracket of the Fonbet Cup of Russia. The first league club from Togliatti created another sensation by beating Spartak 2:1. Kuban defeated Krylya Sovetov on penalties – 3:0, after regular time ended with a score of 2:2. CSKA and Ural did not reveal the winner in the first match of the upper bracket final – 1:1.
The middle peasants of the first league, Akron, went a fantastic way in the Cup of Russia, successively dropping three representatives of the top division from the tournament – Torpedo, Lokomotiv and Dynamo. And he wasn’t about to stop. Togliatti even found a formula for success – a draw in regular time and a victory in a penalty shootout. So they removed Lokomotiv and Dynamo from the road. However, with Spartak everything turned out even better.
The red-whites had serious problems with the quality of the squad, as for various reasons seven players from the main squad were absent, and Giorgi Jikia remained on the bench.
And Akron also had the advantage of its artificial field. And the residents of Togliatti, hosting guests in Zhigulevsk, really managed to neutralize the conditional superiority of the capital’s grandee in the class. Already in the debut, the hosts could open the scoring, when Spartak goalkeeper Alexander Maksimenko first saved the team by not allowing Anton Kilin to score, and then made a gross mistake, and Alexis Duarte had to take the ball out of an empty net.
In the middle of the first half, the Muscovites seemed to have got a 100% scoring opportunity after Roman Zobnin earned a penalty. But Keita Balde, who volunteered to perform it, again, as in the recent championship meeting with Torpedo, falsified, and goalkeeper Sergei Volkov easily guessed the intentions of the Senegalese. But Maksimenko was somehow nervous, and the Venezuelan striker of Akron Andres Ponce frankly forgave him for an unjustified exit from the gate. Then Volkov again recorded a save on Balda as an asset, while Ponce corrected for the missed moment and plunged the ball into the net with his head, responding to a serve from the right flank.
And before the break, the second goal also came from there, which was also scored by 18-year-old Nikita Saltykov with a head, and again with the full connivance of Spartak defenders.
Thus, the fourth Moscow club was knocked out of the Russian Cup in the confrontation with the modest but daring Akron. In the second half, there was an episode when Kilin hooked the post, and the technical Saltykov still periodically gave Spartak a nightmare, which, it seems, was deeply shocked by how events unfolded in Zhigulevsk. The red-whites attacked much more, but the hosts controlled the game quite confidently, until in the 77th minute Tomas Tavaris cut the difference with a powerful shot from the penalty area. In the end, the guests had already tightly locked Akron in its half of the field and could recoup, but the Togliatti team literally lay down their bones and presented another resounding sensation, winning 2:1 and reaching the final of the play-off lower bracket.
Then Akron will face off against Krasnodar. The Kuban team took “Wings of the Soviets” as favorites, because recently they looked very convincing and productive, and in the Cup they knocked out “Akhmat” from “Rostov”. Samarans also did not save their gates when Eduard Spertsyan charged under the crossbar.
True, after that the hosts slowed down, but the guests were very let down by Amar Rakhmanovich, who ran into a removal for two completely optional yellow cards.
Nevertheless, the “Wings” showed cup character and in the minority did not lose hope of salvation, and they missed the second ball, which was sent into the net by John Cordoba from Christian Ramirez’s pass. But Dmitry Tsypchenko and Ilya Gaponov did the seemingly impossible in the last minutes and equalized the score – 2:2, bringing the matter to a penalty shootout. But there the inexplicable happened to the Samarans, and they ruined three 11-meter throws in a row, while the Krasnodar team were accurate and prevailed – 3:0.
CSKA and Ural only last Saturday met in the 23rd round of the national championship. Then the army team won – 2:1, after which the teams moved from Yekaterinburg to Moscow and continued their football “talk”. The match was dictated by the wards of Vladimir Fedotov, but the guests’ goalkeeper Ilya Pomazun kept zeros on the scoreboard until the break, parrying several dangerous shots. And in the second half, Ural played a nice combination and took the lead – 1:0. The goalkeeper of the hosts Igor Akinfeev pulled a difficult ball from Andrey Egorychev, but could not cope with the rebound from Eric Bikfalvi. VAR came to the aid of the Muscovites, reacting to the fall of Anton Zabolotny in someone else’s penalty area. Jesús Medina converted a penalty, and Igor Diveev almost brought CSKA a strong-willed victory. The meeting ended in a draw – 1:1, and now everything will be decided on May 3 in the Urals.
