At the main fight of the UFC 298 tournament in Anaheim, USA, Spaniard of Georgian origin Ilia Topuria defeated Australian mixed-style fighter Alexander Volkanovski, according to the promotion website. In the second round, Topuria knocked out his opponent.

Thanks to the victory, Topuria became the UFC featherweight champion. Previously, the championship belt was held by Volkanovski, who successfully defended the UFC featherweight title five times.

27-year-old Ilia Topuria won all 15 fights in mixed martial arts. 35-year-old Alexander Volkanovski has 25 wins and 4 losses. Among the defeats are two losses to Russian Islam Makhachev when he defended the UFC lightweight champion title.
