Spaniard Josep Clotet left the position of head coach of Moscow Torpedo on the initiative of the board of directors of the football club. This was reported by press service teams. For the match with Tyumen the team will prepare Artem Gorlov.
“Following the results of negotiations with Josep Clotet, the Torpedo board of directors decided to terminate cooperation with the Spanish specialist and his assistant Berto Llado. We thank Josep and Berto for their dedication, hard work, and dedication throughout their work at the club and wish them success in their future careers,” the statement says.
Josep Clotet has been head coach of Torpedo since March. Last season, the team took 16th place in the Russian championship and was relegated from the top division. Torpedo is currently in tenth place in the First League table with 17 points after 12 rounds.
Josep Clotet is 46 years old. Before joining Torpedo, he was an assistant coach at Espanyol, Malmö, and Viking. He worked for Swansea, Leeds and Birmingham City. He coached the second team of Espanyol, Malaga, Halmstad, Oxford, Birmingham City, Brescia.
Artem Gorlov has been working at Torpedo since July. Before that, he headed the Krasnoyarsk Yenisei and the Nizhny Novgorod club Paris NN.
