SpaceX rocket launches Indonesian communications satellite into orbit – Kommersant

A Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched the Indonesian high-capacity telecommunications satellite Merah Putih 2 into orbit, carrier developer SpaceX announced on social media X.

The rocket was launched from the 40th launch pad at the US Space Force base at Cape Canaveral in Florida at 15:11 local time (23:11 Moscow time). The satellite was launched into geotransfer orbit approximately 34 minutes later.

The satellite, developed by the Italian-French company Thales Alenia Space, should provide signal transmission in Indonesia, India and the adjacent regions of South and Southeast Asia. It is expected to last 15 years.
