The Falcon 9 launch vehicle successfully launched into orbit the next batch of 22 mini-satellites for the orbital constellation of the global Internet coverage network of the Starlink system. The developer company SpaceX announced this on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
The rocket was launched from the 40th launch complex of the US Space Force at Cape Canaveral in Florida on Friday at 23:12 local time (September 9, 06:12 Moscow time).
This is the 37th launch of Internet satellites since the beginning of the year and the 106th since May 2019. Taking into account the latest launch, over 5 thousand satellites have already been launched into orbit. Of these, more than 4.7 thousand remain in working order.
SpaceX plans to deploy an orbital constellation of 12 thousand spacecraft, and then increase the network to 30 thousand vehicles. The amount of investment in the project is estimated at $10 billion.
