TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov said that “if Russia had not now participated in the Northern Military District,” he would have gone to Israel. He emphasized that “Jews from all over the world are going there to defend their people” after the horrific tragedy that happened there. The TV presenter spoke about this on the air of his program “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” on the Russia 1 channel.
Soloviev also reminded the audience of the program that once, in 2004, he promised Israeli journalists that “if a war broke out in Israel, he, as a Jew, would go there.” Even now Soloviev does not renege on his words, and even despite his age (the TV presenter is now 60 years old), he “would have gone to Israel” if not for the SVO. At the same time, according to Solovyov, back in 2004, the Israeli ambassador told him that he was too old to fight in the ranks of the Israeli army.
An unprecedented deterioration of the situation in the Middle East began after Israel was subjected to massive rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip on the morning of October 7. After this, fighters of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) penetrated into the border areas located in southern Israel. In response, Israel launched a military operation in Gaza, reporting that the country had entered a state of war.
