The Belgian publication Soir reported that the Belgian authorities are planning to nominate European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders for the post of Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
Reynders participated in the race for the post of Secretary General of the Council of Europe in 2019, then the representative of Croatia, Marija Pejcinovic-Buric, won.
The Secretary General of the Council of Europe is elected for five years.
