Soil physicist Ivan Sudnitsyn has died – Kommersant

Soil physicist and professor at Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov Ivan Sudnitsyn died at the age of 92. He was the oldest employee of the Department of Physics and Soil Reclamation, Faculty of Soil Science, Moscow State University.
“Dear colleagues and friends, with deepest regret we inform you that on January 13, 2024, at the 92nd year of his life, Professor Ivan Ivanovich Sudnitsyn passed away from us… He remained an actively working scientist and teacher until the last days of his life with a clear mind and sense of humor,” – says the message on website Faculty of Soil Science, Moscow State University.
Farewell to Ivan Sudnitsyn will take place in the funeral hall of the Central Clinical Hospital under the Russian Government. It is scheduled for January 16th.
Ivan Sudnitsyn graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Soil Sciences of Moscow State University in 1955, after which he worked at the Forest Institute of the Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Applied Geophysics. Since 1968, he taught at the Department of Physics of Soil Reclamation at Moscow State University.
