Deputies proposed organizing social shelves with free products in Russia
Deputies of the faction “A Just Russia – For Truth” have prepared amendments to the law “On the Fundamentals of State Regulation of Trade Activities in the Russian Federation”, which provide for the organization of “social shelves” in Russian retail chains.
Deputies proposed placing free products on such shelves for pensioners and socially vulnerable citizens.
According to the authors of the initiative, in the Russian Federation there is a problem of irrational use of surplus products.
“According to Rosstat, the largest volume of food waste comes from essential goods: grain products, dairy products and vegetables. At the same time, more than a third of all products in the country turn into waste,” the deputies explained their initiative.
It is known that the document will be submitted to the State Duma for consideration on January 10.
