Social Fund for the first time named the number of recipients of social payments in new regions

Since this year, residents of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, which became part of Russia last fall, began to receive pensions and social benefits under Russian law. To date, 79,500 decisions on the appointment of a pension have been made in the new regions, as well as 120,000 benefits for families with children, a representative of the Social Fund (SFR) told Vedomosti. This is the first published statistics on recipients of social payments from new regions – Social Fund branches opened there on January 1, and the rules for processing payments were legally fixed only in February.
