Sochinka Polina Soldatenkova – bronze medalist of the Russian Cup in beach tennis

The final of the Russian Cup-2022 in beach tennis has ended in Moscow. The composition of Polina Soldatenkova became the bronze medalist of the competition. The tournament was held at the Summer Beach Sports Center.
Participants were selected for the final tournament based on the results of 4 intermediate stages of the Cup. In the decisive stage, only 8 pairs performed in each type of program (doubles for men and women, as well as mixed).
The only representative of the competition from the Krasnodar Territory was the composition of Polina Soldatenkova. Earlier this year she won 2 silver medals at the World Beach Tennis Championship in doubles and mixed doubles.
In the final of the Russian Cup, in a duet with a Muscovite Sofia Romanova, Soldatenkova was able to win a bronze medal. At the group stage, the girls confidently won 2 matches, against a pair from the Samara region Layfurov / Lobanov with a score of 6:1, 6:1, against Lukina / Stepanova (Rybinsk – St. Petersburg) – 6:2, 6:2. And lost to the main favorites of the tournament duet from Togliatti Angelina Klimuk and Elizaveta Tkachenko – 3:6, 6:4, 9:11.
In the semi-finals, Soldatenkova/Romanova lost to the future winners of the tournament Elizaveta Kudinova and Anastasia Semenova (Samara – Rybinsk) – 3:6, 2:6. In the match for 3rd place, Soldatenkova and Romanova took revenge on Klimuk/Tkachenko, who stumbled in the semi-final – 3:6 6:4, 10:3.
In mixed doubles, Soldatenkova performed with Miron Kudrin from Togliatti. In the group, the athletes took 3rd place, after which they won both matches in the tournament for 5-8th places. In the last match, they also won the decisive tie-break and finished fifth.
