Sochi weightlifters won 4 medals at the Russian Championship

Novy Urengoy hosted the Russian Weightlifting Championship. As a result, athletes from Sochi won 4 awards – 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
The most successful was the weight category up to 67 kilograms for men. Albert Sharkov won first place, showing a total of 298 kilograms in the biathlon. He was the best in both exercises – 140 kg in the snatch and 158 in the clean and jerk. Silver medalist Vladimir Pyataev from the Kemerovo region was 15 kg behind the Sochi resident. Bronze medalist here was another representative of the Olympic capital Alexander Moiseenko – 278 kg (120 +158).
Sochi won another gold award Vyacheslav Yarkin in weight up to 81 kg with a result of 340 kg (154 + 186). The closest rivals lagged behind him by 9 and 12 kg, respectively.
Sochi residents helped the men’s team of the Krasnodar Territory to take second place in the team standings. Only the Moscow team was ahead of the Kuban.
In the women’s part of the competition, the composition Daria Kitser in weight up to 59 kg. She showed in the biathlon 181 kg (83 +98). The champion title was won by the titled Muscovite Olga Tyo, ahead of Daria by 30 kg. Another representative of the capital, Arina Sushkina, who lost 9 kg to the composition, became the bronze medalist.
The women’s team of the Kuban took the third place in the team event, leaving behind Moscow and the Moscow Region.
Albert Sharkov and Vyacheslav Yarkin, as champions of Russia, received the right to compete at the international tournament in early August. The CIS Championship, which will be hosted by Belarus, will bring together representatives of 10 countries.
In February of this year, Sochi residents conquered 4 medals at the Russian Cup in weightlifting.
