Kurban Berdyev will be the new head coach of the Sochi club, informs “Championship” with reference to a source familiar with the situation.
Berdyev in this capacity has already been introduced to the players of the club, in the near future his appointment will be officially announced.
Berdyev is seventy years old, the last time he worked in the Russian championship in 2019, when he headed Rubin for the second time in his career.
The Kazan team under the leadership of Berdyev twice became the champion of Russia, won the country’s Super Cup 2 times and won the Cup once.
Since June of this year, Berdyev has been working in the Iranian FC Traktor.
Sochi residents are now in 9th place in the standings of the Russian championship. They have 25 points after 17 meetings.
St. Petersburg Zenit is leading the table with 42 points.
