9 objects of monumental art will be restored in Moscow, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, wrote on his page on the VKontakte social network. Monuments, sculptures and other works of monumental art will be restored.
Six of them are located in the central regions. This is a marble sculpture “The Abduction of Proserpina” in Bolshoy Afanasevsky Lane – the work of Paolo Triscorni of the early 19th century. The bronze bust of Mikhail Frunze on Suvorovskaya Square (E. Vuchetich and G. Zakharov), the monument to Nadezhda Krupskaya on Sretensky Gate Square (sculptors Belashov) will also be restored. In addition, there are three works by Nikolai Andreev at once: a fence and a granite slab for the monument to Fyodor Haaz in Maly Kazenny Lane, as well as the sculpture “Worker” made of concrete – it was installed on Peasant Outpost Square in 1925.
Sergei Sobyanin clarified that the two monuments are located on Leningradsky Prospekt. These are two granite busts. The first is a bust of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (the work of S. Merkurov and I. Frenchman), as well as a granite bust of Nikolai Zhukovsky, created by Georgy Neroda.
And the ninth object that the mayor writes about is a bronze bust of Mikhail Kutuzov, installed on Kutuzovsky Prospekt. It was once created by the sculptor N. Tomsky and the architect L. Golubovsky.
Moscow, according to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, pays great attention to the preservation and enhancement of unique historical treasures. A comprehensive restoration program, as he recalled, has been operating in the capital since 2011. During this time, more than 2 thousand architectural monuments have been put in order.
