In Moscow, near Lyubertsy, air defense destroyed a Ukrainian UAV, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said on his Telegram channel.
“Air defense forces near Lyubertsy thwarted another attempt to fly a drone to Moscow. There are no preliminary casualties or damage,” he wrote.
Emergency services are on the scene, he said. “Thanks to the military for not letting us spoil the Day of Knowledge!” Sobyanin thanked.
Over the past weeks, the Moscow authorities have been making new air defense facilities during the day at the request of the Ministry of Defense, told Sobyanin 31 August. “Sometimes, before the asphalt has cooled down, the missiles are already working, which shoot down flying drones,” he said. The drone was shot down in the Ruza district. There were no casualties or damage. On August 28, a drone flying towards Moscow was destroyed in the Lyubertsy region. As a result, no one was hurt either.
