Sobchak apologized to Chemezov in connection with the extortion case

TV presenter and media manager Ksenia Sobchak apologized to Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov in connection with the criminal case of extorting 11 million rubles from him. The defendants in this case are Mrs. Sobchak’s commercial director Kirill Sukhanov and journalists Arian Romanovsky and Tamerlan Bigaev.
“I sincerely regret that the actions of my colleagues harmed Sergey Viktorovich Chemezov, I apologize to him,” Ms. Sobchak wrote in her Telegram channel. According to her, there is no “political context” in this case.
“I know that the guys sincerely regret what happened. Their fate will be decided by the court. I believe that law enforcement agencies will show sympathy and leniency,” added Mrs. Sobchak.
According to a TASS source, Mrs. Sobchak spent negotiations with Mr. Chemezov at the Rostec office. The meeting lasted about 40 minutes. The speech, according to the source, was supposed to be about “settlement of the conflict”.
According to investigators, Sukhanov, Romanovsky and Bigaev demanded 11 million rubles for deleting a post about Sergei Chemezov in the Telegram channel Put Out the Light. Mr. Sukhanov was detained in the course of an operational experiment: in a Moscow restaurant, he received 800,000 rubles from Mr. Chemezov’s representative.
Ksenia Sobchak is a witness in the case. Against the backdrop of this case, it was reported that the TV presenter left Russia, in November the media reported about her return.
