Sniper of the Russian army thanked NATO for the cartridges for the Austrian rifle

During the special operation, the military actively use captured weapons

This week, President Putin, at the training ground near Ryazan, where he checked the training of the mobilized, fired from a Dragunov sniper rifle – SVD. However, in the special military operation zone, as it turned out, our snipers often use foreign samples. Military expert Alexei Sukonkin wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

He spoke with the commander of the sniper unit of the Pacific Fleet, operating in the special operation zone. At the same time, the expert recalled that in Syria, our snipers had problems with the supply of cartridges for the Austrian Mannlicher rifles. Cartridges of caliber 308 and 338 were literally given out by the piece. To this, the commander of the sniper unit remarked: “It is there, yes. There were few bullets. And here we are well supplied with them.” Moreover, according to him, the cartridges are supplied by NATO … through the Ukrainians.

The commander did not say how our snipers get cartridges for imported rifles – as trophies or manage to buy from the Ukrainians themselves, who often make money on the resale of free foreign weapons.

“The editorial staff of the channel, in my person, expresses sincere gratitude to the North Atlantic Alliance for the systematic supply of high-quality ammunition to Russian units!” Alexei Sukonkin wrote not without irony.

Steyr-Mannlicher SSG 08 is known to be one of the top ten sniper rifles. This is a hand loaded rifle. Its barrel is made of hardened steel by rotational cold forging. The trigger works without “warning”.

Earlier, Sukonkin said that Russian sniper groups from the Derivation detachment also use captured Ukrainian UAR-10 sniper rifles, “obtained in a fair fight.”

They say that a large number of sniper weapons were seized from the Armed Forces of Ukraine in warehouses in the Kharkiv region, as well as in the liberated cities of the Luhansk People’s Republic.
