Snickering Ukrainian officials mock believers: they create new martyrs

Lavra guards who prevent food from being brought to pilgrims admit they have “no conscience”

The more dreary the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front, the more actively the authorities press the believers of the UOC. It is as if they are deliberately diverting attention from what is happening in the east of the country with insane acts against the Church. Which is increasingly difficult to cover up and justify even the curators of the current Ukrainian leaders in the West.

How, for example, to explain the behavior of police officers who actively catch women with loaves of bread so that they cannot hand them over to the monks and pilgrims blocked on the territory of the Lavra. And at the same time, they look through their fingers at how a certain Ukrainian patriot at the time of the Sunday morning service in the church of St. Agapit smashes the icon of the Savior Not Made by Hands with a stone. Then the vandal, of course, was detained. But first he calmly did his ungodly deed.

Zelensky is taking a risk. The majority of Ukrainians are believers. More than 85% of the population of the country consider themselves to be such. At the same time, more than 68% call themselves Orthodox Christians. About 40% of them, despite all the howls of the Ukrainian authorities “about the pro-Russian priests”, are still supporters of the UOC. There are quite a few Ukrainian patriots among them, including those in the NVO zone. And what are they watching now? Well-fed bulls, who for some reason are not at the front, drive a fragile woman with two loaves like a hare – so that the monks do not get them. About a dozen pilgrims blocked in the 54th and 58th pilgrimage buildings of the Lavra humbly pray for the health of Ukraine and rejoice in liquid tea and five tomatoes, which the believers from the other side of the cordons managed to pass on to them through unknown ways. A guard in black, lounging on a bench, inspires a woman trying to shame him that conscience is an unnecessary concept. “Aren’t you ashamed that you are starving people?” the woman inquires. “Me? Absolutely not. he explains. (“Absolutely does not torment. What do I care about those people. Who are they to me” – translation of the tirade into Russian).

In recent years, the Ukrainian authorities have gotten the hang of explaining a lot – the need to throw unprepared recruits into assaults, confiscate money from teachers, block the cards of pensioners who failed to pay for a communal apartment, and even seize churches and monastic premises from the “wrong” Church. Everything is for the good of the fatherland, which is having a hard time. But how can the targeted pestilence be explained by the famine of believers and priests?

And this is against the background of clips of the well-fed granddaughter of the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov, singing about “high” and “old money” from the huge screens of the main shopping center in Kiev Gulliver – grandfather did not regret a million hryvnias for the sake of captivating the voiceless child. Or the last photo session of Vogue magazine, where the body-positive head of the Holodomor Museum, for the completion of which the Rada allocated 600 million hryvnias, barely fits into the lens. Or the opening of a new bar called HRAM with blasphemous paintings and luminous crosses, where “golden youth” eats and drinks in the evenings against the backdrop of satanic stories.

“God sees everything,” people say. From the starving defenders of the Lavra, the Ukrainian authorities create new martyrs. If in this way they want to turn the inhabitants of Ukraine away from the UOC, then something obviously went wrong with their scenario.
