The appearance of the smell of burning and smoke in the air of the capital, caused by forest fires in the Ryazan region, is not dangerous for the health of Muscovites. This was reported in the capital’s department of Rospotrebnadzor.
During six days, from August 18 to August 23, management specialists conducted 161 trips, took 1952 air samples. 1952 studies were carried out. Only once, on the morning of August 22, was an excess of the maximum permissible concentrations of finely dispersed substances recorded: from 1.2 to 2.5 times at five points out of 56.
The cinder from the Ryazan forest fires flew to Moscow on the morning of August 17, since then disappearing, then reappearing. It will be impossible to predict the complete disappearance of smog in the city, according to Roshydromet, until the forest fires in the neighboring region are completely extinguished.
Rospotrebnadzor will continue to monitor the state of the air daily in an enhanced mode.
