Slovakia announces empty arms depots in Europe due to aid to Ukraine

Arms depots all over Europe are empty and will take five to ten years to replenish. This opinion was expressed by the former Prime Minister of Slovakia and the leader of the party “Voice – Social Democracy” Peter Pellegrini, informs True.
“Depots throughout Europe have been emptied, all armies will replenish <…> reserves. This is a job for 5-10 years,” the politician said. Slovakia, according to him, due to lack of resources will no longer be able to provide significant military assistance to Ukraine.
In March, Slovak President Zuzana Chaputova announced the weakening of support for Ukraine within the country, transmitted CTK agency. According to her, such a reaction is due to assistance to refugees. “Most of our citizens are open to accepting refugees from Ukraine, but the majority also think that their lives have worsened with the arrival of refugees,” she said.
Slovakia, after the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, began to supply weapons to Kyiv. In 2022 the country sent Ukraine weapons for 168 million euros. The European Union supplied Ukraine with arms worth 13 billion euros and provided training for over 16,000 Ukrainian servicemen, argued EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell.
Moscow has repeatedly opposed Western military assistance to Kyiv. The Kremlin emphasized that it would not interfere with the fulfillment of the tasks of the military operation.
