Sky News: the goals of Ukraine and the goals of its supporters no longer coincide

The goals of Ukraine in the conflict with Russia and the West that supported it no longer coincide, said retired British Air Force Vice-Marshal Sean Bell in his article published on the Sky News website. Bell believes the West will increasingly doubt whether Kyiv can achieve its goals.
In his opinion, Russia has long been seen as a threat to Western interests, and after the collapse of the USSR it sought to become a global superpower. However, according to the vice-marshal, the conflict in Ukraine has allegedly weakened Russia’s position, and it no longer poses a real threat to Europe. Thus, the West, according to Bell, has achieved its goal in this conflict, and now countries must turn to their internal problems.
However, Ukraine, as he notes, continues to strive to dislodge Russian forces.
According to him, “the harsh reality is that Ukraine’s goals no longer coincide with the goals of its supporters.”
In his article, Bell also writes that while allies are committed to supporting the Ukrainian offensive, skepticism about the achievement and acceptability of Kyiv’s goals in this conflict will only increase.
