Skillbox: most people with a criminal record learn to be Java developers

People with a criminal record, undergoing training under the Skillbox resocialization program, most often choose areas in the IT field (65%). At the same time, among specific specialties, the Java developer is the most popular. This follows from the data of the Skillbox study, which analyzed the results of the resocialization program for people with a criminal record based on the results of four months of training.

The second and third places in terms of popularity among program participants are Python programming (7%) and web development (6%). Other program participants were interested in analytics (11%), testing (5%), project management (5%) and cybersecurity (2%). In second place among the directions is design (16%), then marketing (14%).

For four months, 49 people completed the Life After program: the youngest of them is 19 years old, the oldest is 53 years old. At the same time, only 43% of participants are officially at large, 22% are serving a suspended sentence, 18% are serving sentences in correctional labor centers. Every second was convicted under Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, processing of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues).
