On December 1, the second stage of the Russian Cup in cross-country skiing started in Tyumen. On the first day of competition, skiers representing the Arkhangelsk region again became the leaders of individual freestyle races. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Sports.
At a distance of 10 kilometers, Veronika Stepanova won with a result of 25 minutes 53.9 seconds. Maria Istomina took silver in the distance. Third place went to Anastasia Kuleshova (Nizhny Novgorod region/Republic of Mordovia).
The leader of the men’s race was Alexander Bolshunov. His winning time was 22 minutes 25.6 seconds.
Artem Maltsev (Tyumen and Nizhny Novgorod regions) took second place, and Savely Korostelev, also representing the Arkhangelsk region, took third place. On December 2, athletes will compete in the classic style sprint.
