In the capital of the Kola Arctic, the first day of cross-country skiing competitions in memory of the Honored Worker of Physical Culture of Russia Timur Balanin ended on February 3, the Ministry of Sports of the Murmansk Region said.
The competition takes place in the Valley of Comfort. The classic style brought together over 70 skiers from different municipalities of the region. The athletes were congratulated on their victory.
Timur Balanin is an honorary master of sports. He made a great contribution to the development of physical culture in the region. Timur Pavlovich is also a repeated champion and medalist of the country among veterans. In addition, he took part in international competitions. He passed away on December 10, 2015, at the age of 86.
The day before, a fitness aerobics championship was held in the regional center. “MK in Murmansk” wrotethat 430 athletes competed for medals.
