The decision of the KHL Disciplinary Committee was overturned by the Arbitration Court, administered by the National Center for Sports Arbitration. The fine of SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg in the amount of 500 thousand rubles was canceled, the army press service reported.

The reason for the fine was Rotenberg’s gesture towards the referee at the SKA vs CSKA match on October 2, 2023. At the end of the match, the coach showed his fist to the referee. Rotenberg explained that it was a winning gesture.

The club will be returned 500 thousand rubles. SKA is also going to challenge the fine that was imposed on the chairman of the club’s board of directors, Alexander Medvedev, for saying that the KHL needs to revise its refereeing.

Earlier, “MK in St. Petersburg” talked about beginning of preparation army team for next season. The coaching staff led by Rotenberg will continue to work.
