SKA beat Severstal in shootouts in the KHL match

Petersburg SKA beat Severstal Cherepovets in the regular season match of the Continental Hockey League. The team managed to get ahead only in a shootout.
Petersburgers held the meeting at a party. The hosts opened the scoring at the end of the first period: Daniil Vovchenko sent the puck into the SKA net. The retaliatory strike was struck only in the 18th minute of the second period. The score was equalized by Marat Khairullin. The remaining period of the team played on an equal footing.
In overtime, Severstal removed the goalkeeper and played in a 4×3 format for almost the rest of the time. However, the Cherepovites failed to score. In a series of shootouts, they were bypassed by guests. The decisive throw was performed by Dmitry Yashkin.
SKA remains top of the Western Conference standings with 86 points from 54 games. Severstal is in ninth place with 52 points from 53 matches.
