St. Petersburg SKA defeated the Chinese Kunlun Red Star in a match of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The match, which took place in St. Petersburg, ended with a score of 3:1.
The goals were scored by Marat Khairullin (22), Borna Rendulic (24), Valentin Zykov (49) – Tyler Graovac (51). SKA became the second participant in the Gagarin Cup, scoring 72 points. The leader of the Western Conference, Yaroslavl Lokomotiv, previously qualified for the KHL playoffs. Kunlun is in 10th place in the standings (40 points).
SKA won the Gagarin Cup in 2015 and 2017. Last year, the club won the KHL regular season; in the playoffs, the team reached the final, but lost to CSKA Moscow.
