Sirius hosted an international rhythmic gymnastics tournament

The second international tournament “Heavenly Grace” was held in Sirius. The competition was the first event held at the site of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy. The sports center built as part of the Gazprom for Children program was opened on 2 December.
“There are all conditions for training, accommodation and competitions at the highest level. Today is proof of that. I am sure that the academy will have students who will reach the heights of the sports Olympus,” said Alexei Miller, Chairman of the Board of Gazprom.
According to the president of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Irina Viner, the new center houses the world’s largest hall for practicing this sport. And the Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva stressed that at last the training base appeared not only for the federal teams, but also for the regional teams.
“The opening of the Academy of Rhythmic Gymnastics in the Sirius FT gives a powerful impetus to the development of this sport in the Sochi resort,” said Mayor Alexei Kopaygorodsky.
18 gymnasts from 14 countries took part in the tournament. They had a chance to show themselves in five exercises with a hoop, ball, club, ribbon and rope in the individual all-around. At the awards ceremony on December 4, the “gold” of the competition was received by Russian Lala Kramarenko. The silver medalist was Anastasia Salos from the Republic of Belarus. And the third place was taken by Russian Anastasia Guzenkova.
Recall that recently this fall in Sochi major Paralympic competitions. Athletes from different cities and countries took part in the Summer Games.
