Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the Russia Today TV channel, wrote on her Telegram channel that for the first time since the start of the special military operation, the Ministry of Defense has publicly promised to punish those responsible for the death of the Russian military in Makeyevka.
“I hope that the names of these persons and the measure of responsibility will also be announced,” she said.
Simonyan added that impunity does not lead to public consent, but leads to new crimes and, as a result, to public dissent.
Let us recall that earlier the first deputy head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the RF Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Sergei Sevryukov, said that a commission was currently working to investigate the circumstances of the incident. At the moment, it is known that the personnel massively used mobile phones, which allowed the enemy to determine the coordinates of the location of the military personnel and strike from the HIMARS MLRS. “Following the results of the investigation, the guilty officials will be held accountable,” Sevryukov added.
