Simonyan: private property laws need to be changed to save trapped animals
The editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and the RT television channel, Margarita Simonyan, in a publication on her official Telegram channel, stated that in Russia it is necessary to make adjustments to the legislation on the protection of private property in order to save locked animals.
Simonyan’s publication states that right now in one of the apartments a dog is dying of hunger, whose owner locked it up a few days before and “went on a spree,” which is not the first time this has happened. According to the editor-in-chief of RT, neighbors heard a plaintive bark and called the police, but by law they cannot open the door.
Simonyan addressed legislators, asking what was preventing them from making changes to the law. She emphasized that private property cannot be touched, but if “someone is dying” inside, then it is possible. As Simonyan noted, “life is more important than the inviolability of property.”
