“Silver” in the piggy bank of the Kazakhstan national team at the Universiade-2023

In the relay at a distance of 5000 meters at the Universiade 2023 in Lake Placid (USA), the Kazakhstan men’s short track team took second place. The team included: Sanzhar Zhanisov, Anton Khvan, Alisher Abulkatimov, Adil Galiakhmetov, Yerkebulan Shamukhanov, Valery Klimenko. The first place was taken by South Korea, and the third place was taken by the Netherlands team, according to Vesti.kz.

This award was the eighth in the treasury of the Kazakh team. Earlier, Kazakh short trackers took silver in the mixed relay. Danil Vasiliev and Sergey Tkachenko came second in ski jumping in the men’s team competition. At the same time, Vasiliev made a “double”, having won the gold medal of the Universiade in single competitions. Also, biathletes Vadim Kurales and Bekentay Turlubekov brought a medal of the highest standard to Kazakhstan, and biathlete Alexander Mukhin and the women’s cross-country skiing team won bronze.
