Initiatives to introduce taxes for Russians who have gone abroad should not create negative incentives for business, said Finance Minister Anton Siluanov. According to him, the authorities have not yet formed their position on this issue.
“We could probably say that by providing certain services from abroad on the territory of the Russian Federation, a tax can be paid from this. And we, in fact, want to make sure that taxes are paid without creating any negative incentives,” the minister explained to journalists (quoted by RIA Novosti).
Mr. Siluanov specified that now the authorities are “weighing the proposals of the deputies”, after which the government will decide on its position.
Viacheslav Volodin December 25 informedthat the State Duma is working on the abolition of preferences for Russians who have left the country and the introduction of an increased tax rate for them. Andrey Isaev, deputy head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma toldthat the amendments under development on the abolition of preferences for Russians who left the country include a ban on non-residents to work in the self-employed mode. In addition, there is a tax increase for individual entrepreneurs.
