The election headquarters of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is running for a new term, received signatures from voters from 19 regions of the country. In the near future, subscription lists from another 69 regions should arrive at the headquarters.

According to TASS, the federal headquarters received signatures collected in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Voronezh, Ivanovo, Kaluga, Kostroma, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tambov, Tver, Tula, Yaroslavl and Leningrad regions.

As the press secretary of the headquarters, Alexandra Suvorova, told reporters, now the signatures will be checked by the headquarters’ lawyers. According to her, there is no talk of completing the collection of signatures; they will continue to be collected in all regions of the country. It is not specified how many signatures in support of Vladimir Putin’s nomination have already been collected.

Mr. Putin is running in the presidential elections as a self-nominated candidate; to register, he needs to collect and submit to the Central Election Commission at least 300 thousand signatures of voters. The collection of signatures in support of the nomination of the current head of state started on December 23.

Presidential elections are scheduled for March 17, 2024. They will take place over three days – March 15, 16 and 17. In addition to Vladimir Putin, Vladislav Davankov (New People), Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Sergei Baburin (Russian All-People’s Union), Andrei Bogdanov (Russian Freedom and Justice Party) are also vying for participation in the elections. , Boris Nadezhdin (Civil Initiative), Sergei Malinkovich (Communists of Russia), Irina Sviridova (Democratic Party of Russia), bloggers Rada of Russians and Anatoly Batashev (both self-nominated).
