Shurygin warned about the danger of a massive Ukrainian missile attack on Russia

Kyiv can receive up to 400 missiles from the US, Germany, Britain and France

Since recently, the armed forces of Ukraine have been actively using NATO long-range missiles to strike targets in our rear. This poses a serious hazard and requires appropriate protective measures to be taken. So says military expert Vladislav Shurygin.

Since the summer, the Armed Forces have been attacking with the Franco-British long-range cruise missiles Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG. They, for example, damaged two bridges on the Perekop Isthmus and on the Arabat Spit, which made transport links with Crimea difficult.

Germany is going to supply Kiev with Taurus missiles capable of hitting a range of 560 kilometers, and the United States announced the delivery of ATACMS surface-to-surface missiles in addition to previously delivered high-precision missiles for HIMARS installations.

Thus, the missile threat is increasing. As Vladislav Shurygin noted in his Telegram channel, the response to this threat should be the buildup of our forces and means of air defense (air defense) and electronic warfare (EW).

The expert recalled that, according to the report of our military, out of 12 HIMARS or Storm Shadow missiles, they usually shoot down 80-90%. This is an excellent indicator, but at the same time there has not yet been a precedent with a volley of 20 or 30 missiles at one object. And this danger increases in connection with new Western supplies.

If all decisions on the transfer of Taurus and ATACMS missiles are made, then in 4 months the Armed Forces of Ukraine can receive up to 400 long-range missiles. With this in mind, the Ukrainians will be able to carry out, for example, a simultaneous salvo of up to 40 cruise missiles.

Vladislav Shurygin named possible means of neutralizing the missile threat. This is a doubling of air defense systems in especially dangerous areas and key facilities. For example, in Sevastopol, to protect the main base of the Black Sea Fleet, as well as the main ports.

In the zone of destruction of missiles that fly hundreds of kilometers, there is also a huge number of military and industrial facilities, including oil depots, military plants, warehouses, the defense of which from air attacks must also be strengthened.

Considering that Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG and Taurus are air-launched missiles, it is necessary to intensify the hunt for the carriers of these missiles — Su-24 and MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force. This is not an easy task, given that at the first danger, these aircraft will be relocated to Poland or Romania.

Another option is the destruction of Western missiles during their delivery to Ukraine. “The experience of the previous year and a half shows that this is the least we can do,” the expert states.

He called the most effective response the strategic offensive of the Russian army, “which will break open the front and force the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to throw all their forces and means to stop this offensive.” In the event of a delay in the NMD, Shurygin believes, the West’s efforts to support Ukraine will constantly increase, including the supply of long-range missiles.

Well, the most radical measure, the expert believes, is the announcement of an ultimatum to the United States and NATO countries, which Russia must unequivocally warn: the transfer of missiles to Kiev will be a legitimate reason for Russia to consider these countries as participants in the conflict with all the ensuing consequences, including strikes on vital infrastructure – submarine communication cables, satellites, oil and gas pipelines. At the same time, Russian nuclear forces are being transferred to a high degree of readiness …

On the whole, the expert believes, pumping Ukraine with long-range weapons by the West dramatically increases the risk of the armed confrontation in Ukraine escalating into a Russia-NATO global war with the prospect of its transition to a nuclear missile war.
