Shoigu met with Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu met with his Chinese counterpart Li Shanfu in New Delhi (India). About it reported “RIA News”.

Before the start of the meeting, Li Shangfu and Shoigu briefly exchanged assessments on issues of interest, the agency notes. The meeting of ministers of military departments was not planned in advance.

On April 28, New Delhi hosts a meeting of the defense ministers of the countries participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Earlier at the meeting Shoigu declaredthat after the start of the military operation in Ukraine, the West used the military potential and capabilities of “practically all NATO countries” against Russia. According to him, the actions of the West indicate advance preparations for confrontation with Russia.

Then Shoigu expressed confidence in the expansion of military cooperation between the two countries. He noted that cooperation between the Russian Federation and China in the international arena has a stabilizing effect on the situation in the world, reducing the “conflict potential”. Moscow and Beijing, in particular, coordinate their actions during the preparation of patrols and military exercises both on a bilateral basis and in multilateral formats, for example, within the framework of the SCO.
