Shoigu instructed to increase the production of electronic warfare

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered to increase the production of electronic warfare equipment (EW), which have proven themselves in the course of the Russian military operation in Ukraine. The instruction was given by the head of the Ministry of Defense at a meeting with the leadership of one of the defense enterprises in the Kaluga region, indicated in Telegram channel departments.

Mr. Shoigu visited the region to check the progress of the state defense order. The Minister of Defense inspected the production facilities of an enterprise that produces electronic warfare equipment for the Russian Armed Forces.

The company’s managers indicated that they were able to significantly increase the output of products across the entire range (including space and aircraft-based facilities) by modernizing lines, introducing new technologies and increasing labor productivity.

“At the same time, due to the conclusion of new contracts with the military department in the near future, the total volume of output will increase many times,” the Defense Ministry said.

From the reports of the Ministry of Defense it follows that the electronic warfare equipment of the Russian troops, among other things, is actively apply in the fight against Ukrainian drones. In addition, April 10 NBC News informedthat American JDAM smart bombs may not work due to the operation of such means.

Earlier, Sergei Shoigu had already made several similar working trips to the regions of the country, where he also checked the execution of the state defense order at military-industrial complex enterprises. April 11 he visited in the Tula region, April 6 – in Nizhny Novgorod regions, March 8 and 29 – in Chelyabinsk and Kirov areas.
