Shoigu checked part of the Strategic Missile Forces with the new “Yars” in the Kaluga region

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited military units of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) in the Kaluga Region. About it informs Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, checked the combat duty of one of the regiments of the Vladimir Missile Association in the Kaluga Region,” the message says.

During the trip, the minister listened to the report of the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Colonel-General Sergei Karakaev. The military spoke about the progress of re-equipment of the unit with new Yars missile systems, as well as the creation of modern infrastructure. The Ministry of Defense noted that the Kozelskaya missile division was the first formation to receive the Yars complexes.

Shoigu was also shown the combat capabilities of a silo launcher and the operation of a remotely controlled combat module of a new generation protection system. In addition, the minister checked the infrastructure that provides conditions for combat duty and comfortable accommodation for military personnel.

Shoigu also presented reports to the command of the association. The military reported on the state of combat readiness and the composition of the missile formation. Then the minister set the tasks of developing and introducing new forms and methods of troop operations into combat training programs.

Formerly Shoigu inspected enterprises of the military-industrial complex (OPK) in the Tula region, where he checked the implementation of the state defense order. In particular, the Minister visited the enterprises of the Scientific and Production Association “SPLAV” named after. A. N. Ganichev and PJSC “Imperial Tula Arms Plant”, which, among other things, produce destruction systems.
