Russia has not launched as many Kinzhal missiles as Kyiv “knocks down” every time with its statements, declared Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, commenting to RIA Novosti on reports by the Kyiv authorities about allegedly downed Russian missiles.
“I have already said and I will repeat again. We have not launched as many “Daggers” as they allegedly shoot down every time with their statements. Moreover, the number of these “Ukrainian interceptions”, and who really controls the American complexes there is still a big question – three times more than we allow. Yes, and with the type of missiles they are always wrong. That’s why they don’t get there,” the minister said.
Today the Russian Ministry of Defense reportedthat the Armed Forces of the country during a night strike by a hypersonic missile “Dagger” destroyed a Patriot anti-aircraft missile system in Kyiv. Russia, according to the defense department, last night launched a concentrated strike with long-range precision weapons on the points of deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and warehouses with ammunition and equipment delivered from Western countries. All intended targets were hit.
In addition, Russian air defenses shot down seven Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles and seven HIMARS MLRS shells.
Later, CNN, citing an unnamed US official informedthat the Patriot air defense system was damaged as a result of a missile hit. The extent of the damage is currently under investigation. At the same time, the White House stated that they could not confirm the information about the damage to the Patriot air defense system in Ukraine.
