Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu checked the work of the advanced command post of the Center group of troops in the special operation zone. About it reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

“Sergey Shoigu thanked the command and personnel of the group of forces for conducting successful offensive operations in the Krasnolimansky direction and for our troops to seize more advantageous positions,” the statement said.

During the inspection, Shoigu heard reports from the commander of the group, Lieutenant General Andrei Mordvichev, as well as commanders and staff officers “on the current situation, the nature of enemy actions and the performance of combat missions by Russian troops in tactical areas.”

Mordvichev also showed Shoigu a Swedish infantry fighting vehicle (BMP) CV-90, which was captured during a special operation. According to him, Western armored vehicles do not have spare parts and tools to quickly repair them in combat conditions. Other shortcomings include the low rate of fire of the armored vehicle, the lack of a guided weapon system and “low survivability due to the high silhouette.”

In turn, Shoigu drew attention to the importance of a preemptive strike against the enemy “when he is knocked out of held positions”, which will allow Russian servicemen to minimize losses on the battlefield.

At the end of July, at a thematic conference call with the leadership of the Russian armed forces, Shoigu said that Ukraine in July lost 20,824 military personnel and 2,227 pieces of military equipment.

On July 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with members of the Russian Security Council notedthat the supplied equipment and thousands of foreign mercenaries do not help Kyiv achieve any results during the counteroffensive. The head of state noted that the equipment supplied to Ukraine is on fire. According to Putin, often “according to its tactical and technical data, it is even inferior to some types of weapons still of Soviet production.” The President noted that the supply of new equipment would only prolong the conflict.
