Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu checked the implementation of the state defense order by enterprises of the military-industrial complex in Tula, reported press service departments. Sergei Shoigu inspected NPO Strela and NPO Splav named after A. N. Ganichev. Based on the results of the inspection, the Minister of Defense conducted meeting with the participation of the Governor of the Tula region Alexey Dyumin.

At the site of NPO Strela, the head of the military department talked with workers and general director of the enterprise Vyacheslav Chapkin. They reported to Mr. Shoigu on the progress of the production of the Yastreb-AV and Zoopark-1M reconnaissance radar systems, as well as the Aistenok radar stations used during counter-battery warfare.

According to the head of the enterprise, the state defense order in 2023 has been completed in full. In 2024, it is planned to double the number of complexes produced; for this, new equipment was purchased, and workers switched to 12-hour shifts. In 2025, production volume is planned to quadruple.

During the inspection at NPO Splav, the minister presented new workshops of the plant, commissioned in 2023. Thanks to this, the volume of production has increased fourfold, and for some items – sevenfold. The Ministry of Defense message does not specify which positions are being discussed. According to the site information “zavody.rf”“Splav” is a manufacturer of multiple launch rocket systems “Grad”, “Smerch”, “Uragan”, “Damba”, “Ogon” and “Udav”.

In addition to Alexey Dyumin, the meeting following the inspection was attended by heads of enterprises and representatives of relevant military command and control bodies. At the meeting, Sergei Shoigu demanded that the schedule for the supply of all manufactured weapons to the troops be adjusted and that deliveries be shifted from the second half of the year to the first half of the year. He also emphasized that for some types of weapons, production time was reduced from six to eight months to one and a half.
