Shoigu called for increasing the pace of production and repair of Su-34 bombers

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after V.P. Chkalov, where Su-34 fighter-bombers are being produced and repaired, and checked the progress of the state defense order (GOZ). About it reports Ministry of Defense.

During the inspection, the minister set the task for the management of the enterprise to increase the pace of production and repair of equipment. “This machine is the main workhorse, they have four to five flights every day, so we need to tighten up and hurry,” the press service quotes Shoigu.

He noted that some factories are “ahead of the curve”; they have already reached the 2024 program. Shoigu called for organizing work at the Novosibirsk aircraft plant in a similar way.

During the trip, the minister also held a working meeting with the participation of the management of the enterprise and relevant military authorities. Shoigu said that in 2023, deliveries of new Su-34s and modifications of those already in operation are carried out in accordance with schedules. He added that contracts for 2024 have also been completed. “There are no issues that require our attention in 2024,” he emphasized.

September 27 Shoigu checked implementation of the state defense order at the defense industry enterprise “Tactical Missile Arms” in the Moscow region. The corporation’s management stated that over the past six months, the production volumes of high-precision weapons have doubled, and for individual items – by 3.5 and 5 times. “We really hope that the momentum will be maintained not only in 2024, but that it will also be increased in certain areas,” Shoigu said during a meeting following the work.
