Colonel Matviychuk: Russian air defense systems are the most promising in the world

Military expert, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk in conversation with “Lentoy.ru” stated that the Russian S-400 and S-500 air defense systems are the most promising in the world due to their great maneuverability and ability to withstand all modern and high-tech types of weapons.
As Matviychuk noted, the Americans are building their air defense on the Patriot system, which is designed to control airspace and combat all types of airborne objects, including space-based ones. At the same time, according to the expert, recent events in Ukraine have demonstrated that this system is very cumbersome, and there is a very long process of carrying out combat missions. The retired colonel emphasized that Patriot does not have time to respond to Russian Avangards and Daggers.
Matviychuk pointed out that the Israeli “iron dome” turned out to be extremely successful, which effectively fulfills all the tasks of protecting airspace, but in the context of the use of low-tech missile systems against the country. The most promising air defense systems today, according to the expert, are the Russian S-400 and S-500, whose advantage lies in higher maneuverability. The retired colonel added that they are designed for existing modern military space attack systems that may be in service with NATO countries.
