Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu on Monday, May 29, took part in a meeting of the public council under the defense department. This was reported in the press service of the ministry.
Shoigu told the members of the public council about the results of the activities of the Russian Ministry of Defense in several areas in 2023, emphasizing that much attention is still paid to issues of interaction between the army and society.
As the minister noted, “we have an incredible number of real citizens of our country who are very, very rooting for the country.” Shoigu thanked each of them for their efforts.
The head of the Ministry of Defense also positively assessed the work of the council in the field of patriotic education of youth and support for families of military personnel.
Earlier, Sergei Shoigu took part in a meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CSTO member countries in Minsk. The politician pointed out that more than 2.5 thousand foreign mercenaries who carry out terrorist actions, including sabotage and high-profile murders, take part in the hostilities on the side of Ukraine. At the same time, the West continues pump up the Kyiv regime with weapons. Western countries have provided military assistance to Ukraine totaling more than $65 billion.
