Shmygal requested an emergency meeting with Ukrainian donors

The head of the Ukrainian government Denis Shmygal expects to meet with representatives of Western sponsors of the Kyiv regime in January 2024. As reported on Thursday, December 28, Bloomberg, the politician requested this meeting on an emergency basis.
According to Shmygal’s letter, Ukraine needs “sufficient, immediate and predictable funding, starting in January 2024.” The prime minister described the situation in his country as deplorable, emphasizing that “it is hardly possible to discuss reconstruction projects when we are practically unable to meet survival-related priorities in 2024.”
Shmygal explained the urgency of the meeting by the fact that Ukraine is not able to wait until March, given the lack of funds to finance social needs.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov announced serious contradictions in the European Union on the issue of financial assistance to Ukraine. According to the Kremlin speaker, the West understands that the lion’s share of funds sent to the Ukrainian authorities is stolen.
The Czech publication Seznam zprávy published a forecast from a number of experts about how the situation will develop for Ukraine in the absence of the necessary Western assistance. Almost all of them come to the conclusion that this is fraught with complete collapse for Kyiv.
