TRT Haber: ship traffic in the Dardanelles has been suspended due to thick fog
TV channel TRT Haber reported that ship traffic in both directions was suspended in the Dardanelles Strait due to thick fog.
It is clarified that disruptions in shipping were caused by thick fog, which has recently intensified in the Dardanelles.
“At about two o’clock in the morning, due to deteriorating visibility, traffic along the strait was temporarily closed to transit ships in both directions,” the TV channel notes.
Employees of the Directorate for servicing ships in the strait informed the captains of ships that were supposed to enter the strait about the suspension of traffic. After this message, the ships remained at anchorages at the entrances to the Dardanelles from the Aegean and Marmara seas.
