Governor of the Kaluga region Vladislav Shapsha will pass the GTO standards this year. The head of the region spoke about this on Monday, April 8.

“This year I would also like to pass the GTO standard. Jubilee year. I will definitely do this,” he said at a meeting of the regional Government.

Shapsha also instructed to involve employees of regional and municipal authorities in this.

He added that in the Kaluga region more than 20 percent of the population joined the “Ready for Labor and Defense” movement.

“We are creating special sites for preparing and passing standards so that residents can try their hand. As part of the national project “Demography”, they are equipped in every district. This is part of our modern sports base, which encourages people to engage in physical exercise and lead a healthy lifestyle,” the governor said and expressed hope that by 2030, more than 500 thousand residents of the region will take part in passing the GTO standards, which will be 50% of the population.

Let us remind you that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the revival of the GTO complex, which was initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Since 2015, more than 217 thousand residents of the Kaluga region have been registered on the official Internet portal of the GTO complex, of which 152 thousand took direct part in meeting the standards, and 131 thousand became owners of insignia of the GTO complex in gold, silver and bronze denominations.
