Shaman Karagay told how to make the coming year of the Black Hare successful

This animal is by no means cowardly – it patronizes brave and smart people.

On the night of January 21-22, at 23.53 Moscow time, the year of the Black Water Hare begins. The character of the year will have the features of its symbol, but this is not about cowardice and fear of every leaf under the bush, but the ability to survive, the ability to adapt even to the most extreme conditions, fertility and, to be honest, charm and charisma.

– The hare is far from a coward, and this can be understood from the legend about the creation of a 12-year calendar, where each animal that arrived at the Emperor’s feast was given its own year. The hare, as we remember from school literature lessons, does not know how to swim, but he arrived fourth at the court, having bypassed those who are larger and stronger with his ingenuity, – says the permanent expert of “MK” astrologer, shaman Karagay.

In addition, now the Hare did not hesitate to seize another two and a half weeks of rule – his year will last until February 9, 2024, and only then the Green Wood Dragon will take over.

In Eastern traditions, the Hare also has many privileges. His image is often associated with the moon. Asians, by the way, still believe that the spots on the Earth’s satellite resemble the outlines of a Hare. And the first Chinese lunar rover was called “Moon Hare”.

– A year with such a patron promises to be good, – continues Karagay. – Re-read fairy tales, and you will understand that gray bunnies are cowards only at the very beginning. Over time, they not only acquire the necessary defenders and a support group that helps solve all bunny problems, but they themselves are able to intercede. There is self-confidence in the character of the Hare, which sometimes seems excessive to us, but then we see that it is this trait that helps this animal to take its toll.

“Four sons and a sweet daughter” is a familiar phrase from the Soviet cartoon “A Bag of Apples”. And then there is the saying “breed like rabbits.” And in fact, hares (rabbits) are prolific, able to feed their large family and have a considerable share of self-sacrifice for the sake of their neighbor (recall the Buddhist legend in which the hare jumped into the fire to feed the Buddha himself with his meat). The hare invented the elixir of longevity, for which he was awarded the title of Lunar and forever settled on the Moon as its guardian and observer of what is happening on Earth. A hare is able to dig a hole for itself even in the hardest ground and provide housing for the whole family.

As for people, in Siberia, hare meat was used in the treatment of infertility and was considered one of the most affordable. In the famine years, those who had rabbits in the household were not threatened with death, and the family was well-fed and dressed in clothes made of soft and warm skins.

A shaman’s hare’s foot often served as a beater for a tambourine during rituals, and then became a talisman and an amulet that brought good luck.

Western tradition ascribes features of madness and extravagance to the Hare (as, for example, the White Rabbit in Lewis Carroll), but this once again emphasizes the versatility of the appearance of the symbol of 2023.

It is interesting that the Hare now begins to reign in January – the month in which a huge number of victims of natural disasters and political passions fell in world history. Again, this is another proof of the courage of the eared owner of the year, ready to take on possible hardships.

A few examples. On January 23, 1556, one of the most destructive earthquakes in the world occurred in China. 830 thousand people died, territories located 500 kilometers from the epicenter were affected. Ten years later, already in Russia, on January 5, 1565, Tsar Ivan IV establishes the oprichnina – the state policy of terror in Rus’. This date opened a deadly funnel for the next seven years. The number of dead is estimated by various historians from 5 thousand to 20 thousand people, and some publicists estimate the victims in tens of thousands. On January 22, 1905 (according to the old style – January 9) “Bloody Sunday” took place. In St. Petersburg, a 150,000-strong procession of workers who were going to the tsar to hand him a petition for reforms was shot. The tacit non-intervention of the sovereign gave rise to the revolution of 1905…
